"The best picture is still the one I have yet to take."
Giulia Paratelli is a London-based freelance photographer specialising in portrait, theatre, and editorial photography. Her work is people-centred and narrative-driven, focusing on performance, emotion, and human connection through strong visual composition.
She began her photography career at 23 while completing a Master’s degree in International Management at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Italy. What started as a side job quickly evolved into a professional practice rooted in storytelling. She initially worked as a photojournalist for local newspapers and magazines, before expanding into festivals, concerts, events, universities, and theatres across Italy.
In 2019, Giulia relocated to London to pursue new creative opportunities within the UK’s cultural and media landscape. She now works as a theatre photographer, portrait photographer, and editorial photographer, collaborating with performers, creatives, media agencies, and cultural institutions. Her work captures atmosphere and authenticity across live performance, studio portraiture, and editorial commissions.
During the pandemic, she broadened her technical expertise, working as a jewellery photographer in Central London and later as a product photographer for the international auction house Bonhams in Knightsbridge. These roles strengthened her studio workflow, lighting precision, and attention to detail.
Today, Giulia brings advanced studio and location lighting skills, a refined eye for composition, and strong post-production expertise to every project, with advanced knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite. Alongside commissioned work - including theatre photography, editorials, headshots, and events - she continues to develop personal projects that amplify underrepresented voices and explore themes of identity, inclusion, and human connection.
